FAQ

Common Questions
About Adorbis Workspace.

What exactly is Adorbis Workspace?
Adorbis Workspace is a curated directory of open-source AI applications that can be connected to Adorbis AI services. It is a discovery and onboarding platform — not an AI application itself. Users find a tool they like, download it from the official repository, install the Adorbis Starter Pack, and get access to 40+ AI models through a single Adorbis account.
Does Adorbis own or control the workspace tools?
No. Every tool listed in Adorbis Workspace is independently developed and maintained by its respective open-source community. Adorbis does not own, modify, fork or redistribute any of the tools. AnythingLLM belongs to Mintplex Labs. Open Design belongs to nexu-io. AionUI belongs to iOfficeAI. OpenClaw belongs to the openclaw community. Hermes Workspace is by outsourc-e. Crush is by Charmbracelet. Hermes Agent is by NousResearch. All tools are MIT or Apache 2.0 licensed and available from their official GitHub repositories.
How do downloads work?
Every workspace card links directly to the official GitHub releases page of the tool. You download the tool directly from the original developer — Adorbis is not involved in the download. Once installed, the Adorbis Starter Pack provides configuration files that point the tool to Adorbis API for AI model access. You never download anything from Adorbis servers to use the workspace tools.
What are the licensing terms for these tools?
All currently listed tools are either MIT or Apache 2.0 licensed — both permissive open-source licences that allow free use, modification and distribution. MIT licence tools: AnythingLLM, Open Notebook, OpenClaw, Hermes Workspace, Crush, Hermes Agent. Apache 2.0 licence tools: Open Design, AionUI. Licence details are shown on each workspace card. Always verify the current licence in the tool's official repository before commercial deployment.
What are the privacy considerations?
Privacy characteristics vary by workspace tool, AI model provider and deployment configuration. Many supported tools are capable of local document processing — meaning documents may be processed on your device before an AI request is sent. However, Adorbis does not own or control the workspace applications and cannot make guarantees about their behaviour across all configurations. AI requests pass through Adorbis routing and on to selected model providers, each with their own privacy policies. Users and organisations should evaluate the full data flow — workspace tool, Adorbis routing, and model provider — before deployment in sensitive workflows.
What are Adorbis Credits and how do they work?
Adorbis Credits (AC) are the billing unit for AI usage through Adorbis. 1 AC = $0.001. Every AI request consumes credits based on the model used and the length of the conversation. New accounts receive 1,000 free credits (worth $1.00) on signup — enough to explore most workspace tools. Starter plans begin at $10/month for 15,000 AC. Credits are consumed per request across all connected workspace tools through the same account.
Can I use Adorbis Workspace in enterprise or regulated environments?
Adorbis offers enterprise deployment options including BYO-VPC (run the Adorbis routing layer within your own cloud infrastructure) and air-gapped deployment for high-isolation requirements. These options give organisations more control over where AI routing occurs. Privacy and compliance characteristics still depend on the selected workspace tool and AI model provider. Organisations with regulated workflows should evaluate each component in their deployment before production use. Contact hello@adorbistech.com to discuss enterprise options.
How do I suggest a new tool for the directory?
Email hello@adorbistech.com with the tool name, GitHub repository link, and a brief description of why it would be a good fit for the Adorbis Workspace directory. Tools must be open-source (MIT, Apache 2.0 or equivalent permissive licence), actively maintained, and capable of connecting to a custom AI API endpoint. The directory is updated regularly as new tools are evaluated.
Why these workspaces are featured

Every Workspace Is Selected
By These Four Criteria.

Adorbis does not list every AI tool. The workspace directory applies four criteria before a workspace is included based on quality, openness and compatibility.

Open Source
Every tool is MIT or Apache 2.0 licensed. Source code is publicly auditable. No black boxes.
Actively Maintained
Tools with active development communities, regular releases and responsive maintainers.
Custom AI Endpoints
Supports configuring a custom OpenAI-compatible API endpoint — required to connect to Adorbis.
Flexible Deployment
Works across desktop, browser, terminal and local environments. No forced cloud lock-in.
